The Property
High-end French skincare manufacturer L’Occitane en Provence’s commitments haven’t changed since founder Olivier Baussan sold his first bottle of essential oil in 1976. Inspired by Provençal traditions, each product’s origins can be traced back to individual ingredients’ roots: shea butter from Africa, Immortelle from Corsica, Cade from France.
Uptown Yonge is familiar with L’Occitane, with their boutique at its current location for well over a decade. Entering the recently renovated store creates a general sense of well-being: richly layered scents tantalize the nose; bundles of dried lavender evoke the Provence region’s historically-rich past; warm, welcoming staff encourage browsing and discovery.
Customer favourites like the Shea Butter creams and Aromachologie Bath & Shower Gel are easy choices. New products like a Lavender collection (sourced from the Plateau de Sault in Haute-Provence) and the Immortelle Precious collection are rooted in nature and perfected by research. Staff are happy to provide samples and make recommendations. Products can be used by anyone, but dedicated collections for men and babies are available as well.
L’Occitane’s renovation shows their commitment to the neighbourhood, allowing our love affair with the best of the French countryside to continue.
